SU administration changes announced

In an email sent to Shippensburg University students on Monday, SU President Laurie Carter announced that David Lovett, current dean of students, will now serve as the interim vice president for enrollment management and student success as a part of the university’s reorganization process.

Carter said Lovett will remain in this position until the university has found someone to permanently fill the vice president position. She said she expects the search to conclude by the beginning of 2018. When the position has been permanently filled, Lovett will assume the role of associate vice president for student success.

Donna Gross , associate dean of students, will now serve in a dual capacity as both the associate dean, dean of students and director of new student orientation until a new dean of students can be hired. Carter predicts that a new dean of students will be selected by the end of January.

“I appreciate your patience and flexibility as we continue to build a stronger Ship,” Carter said in the email. “Change can be uncomfortable, but this reorganization process is important in making the best environment for students and prospective students.”
