Two individuals were shot at Bard Townhouses on Monday, Nov. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, police charged Sherrod Eugene Baltimore, 21, of Harrisburg, in connection with the shooting, according to ABC27.

At 8:20 p.m. on Monday, police received reports of shots fired near Bard Townhouses. According to Ashley Grecco, a Shippensburg University senior and a Bard Townhouses resident, she called the police after hearing what she said were “three gunshots in succession.”

“A couple of our neighbors were standing outside and we were all exchanging, ‘Did you hear that?’” Grecco said. “We didn’t really see anything.”

At 11:39 p.m., SU students and parents received an alert from the university that there was a second report of shots fired.

Around the 1200 unit of Bard Townhouses, Pennsylvania State, Shippensburg Borough and SU police cars nearly blocked the road. Police officers interviewed witnesses and tried to keep Bard residences from the area.

“We looked outside and saw a line of seven cop cars down the road, but had no idea what was happening,” said Mackenzie Weaver, an SU student and Bard Townhouses resident.

Then at 12:25 a.m., SU students and parents received another SU alert saying that injuries were reported and there was a suspect in custody.

“I really wish that the police would have given a little more information especially for people that live in that area,” Weaver said.
