The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning until 7:30 p.m. via text message for the Shippensburg University area.

It advised everyone to take shelter and check local media for updates, as storm clouds and sounds of thunder moved across the Cumberland Valley at about 7 p.m. today.

According to the Weather Channel, there is a tornado warning until 8 p.m. and a tornado watch until 10 p.m.

Many SU students looked out the windows from their residence halls, and some people stood outside to watch and take photos.
