It has been four years since James Cameron released his ground breaking epic film“Avatar to great acclaim and success at the box office. But many moviegoers and some critics had problems with the film and criticized its storytelling ability. However, no one denied its place as a milestone in the future of filmmaking.

The next step in the timeline of groundbreaking films has finally come. “Gravity,” directed by the great Alfonso Cuaron, is a spectacular masterpiece of epic proportions to match that of “Avatar.”

Starring two of the best actors alive today, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, “Gravity” is an intense thrill ride that has you gripping the armrests for dear life. The amazing, incredibly harsh world of outer space that Cuaron was able to capture was one of the most beautifully made in film history.

When you are watching this film you feel as though you are sitting in the shuttle side by side with these astronauts. The scenery is so real and lifelike that the 3-D and Imax options for this film are a must and enhance the experience in the theater exponentially.

With the fantastic setting and the intense story combined with two of the best performances in recent memory, “Gravity” takes that next step in film making without the questions that Avatar faced. It is a fantastic film and a must see.

I would give this film a 4.5 out of 5.
