Just a few weeks after the Student Government Association’s officer elections, senators are suiting up for their own elections to take place. Voting begins on Monday April 18 at 8 a.m. through Thursday April 21 at 4 p.m. Voting will take place online through Shiplink again and an email will be sent to Shippensburg University students containing the voting link.

Emmy and Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth dazzled the Shippensburg University campus on March 24 at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center with “An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth.” Chenoweth performed songs from her most recent albums, fan favorites from Broadway and other well-known sentimental pieces.

On March 14, demonstrators from the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) set up outside of Reisner Dining Hall. Eight Shippensburg University students spent the day on Feb. 19 set up in the Math and Computing Technologies Center to compete in a mathematic modeling and science data contest. Members of the math modeling and data science club teamed up in groups of two or three students to solve modeling and data problems in the COMAP weekend-long competition.

From cards with “love birds” gendered into male and female couples to commercial ads depicting a man buying a ring for his girlfriend, Valentine’s Day and the weeks leading up to it feel like an ambush of heteronormative relationships.

Every day at approximately noon, I sit down in Reisner dining hall and open Wordle on my computer. I joined the Wordle craze late (just over two weeks ago), and ever since I have experienced the different ways in which people enjoy the game - competitively versus themselves, competitively versus others or by working together with others.

In seventh grade, Skylar Walder stopped in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, as a pit stop on the way home to northern New Jersey. It wasn’t until high school that she rediscovered Shippensburg through a poster in her teacher’s classroom. Now, Walder is an amicable and recognizable face on campus.
