Super Bowl LVIII: Dressed to Impress

(02/20/24 5:07pm)

The NFL Super Bowl is one of the most awaited and celebrated events in the American annual calendar. It is a combination of the most popular interests within the country — sports, music, military, fashion, fame, food and production. Though all of these interests are equally as important, one of the most aesthetically pleasing interests is fashionability. Obviously.

Don’t Burn Sage; Burn Cultural Appropriation

(02/20/24 5:00pm)

Crystals, tarot, and astrology are familiar tropes of being a “granola girl.” However, some practices typically adopted by TikTok creators are a form of cultural appropriation. White sage has now begun to be used within Western spiritual practices. However, smudging, the practice of burning white sage, is a sacred ritual for indigenous American communities for cleansing and spiritual protection.

Presidents shouldn't be this old

(02/20/24 5:00pm)

Jon Stewart recently made his return to “The Daily Show”, and it started with a bang. He made national headlines for his criticisms of both primary presidential candidates in the upcoming election. The main point he made was that both Biden and Trump are the oldest candidates to run for president in U.S. history, breaking the record age that they set themselves in the 2020 election. Stewart was targeted by both liberal and conservative news agencies and personalities over his assessment, but is he wrong?

Biden should bail out

(02/20/24 5:00pm)

President Joe Biden may have fallen down a slippery slope that leads to a second term for Donald Trump. Special counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to file criminal charges against the 81-year-old Biden due to him being “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” has brought with it a focus on the president’s record that should leave Democrats seeking an escape hatch.

With that being said, whether you’re single or in a relationship, Valentine’s Day will always have your back in terms of fashion. Who doesn’t enjoy being impressionable?

Top 10 rom-coms of all time

(02/13/24 5:26pm)

Some of my favorite movies in the whole world are romantic comedies, or rom-coms. Rom-coms are movies that contain romantic plotlines, but those that are generally light-hearted and humorous. These films are often overlooked in the film world, as they are seen as “chick flicks,” movies that women typically enjoy that men don’t see value in. However, I think that many chick flicks can be valuable to the viewer. Aside from many being genuinely good movies, they are light-hearted and fun and can take your mind off of the bad things happening in the world. Rom-coms are a form of escapism for many of us, including myself.
