Elizabeth Peters is sophomore communications journalism major in the Wood Honors College with minors in both art and biology. Peters is involved on campus, working as a student ambassador, the head copy editor for The Slate and as a member of The Reflector’s art committee.
Recently, there have been incidents of vandalism at the campus farm, which led to destruction of farm supplies and a lost harvest.

The Huber Arts Center is set to present a new photography exhibit, ‘Signature of the Spirit’ by Chester Higgins, in The Kauffman Gallery on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

The Shippensburg Theater Collective performed ‘Riii! From the Life and Death of King Richard III’ by William Shakespeare at the Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2 Station on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. The station was nearly full, with even Shippensburg University President Charles Patterson and Colleen Patterson in attendance. Audience members of all ages sat in assorted chairs around the room and were treated to popcorn and broody background music while waiting for the show to start.
Shippensburg University held an introductory training program for those interested in becoming a Silent Witness. Blaise Liffick, a Millersville University professor and the program’s Operations Director, led the ‘Facing the Hate: Peacekeeping on Campus with Silent Witness Peacekeepers Alliance’ presentation.
The LGBTQ+ Advisory Council held a Letter Writing Party in McFeely’s Cafe from 6-8 p.m. Friday to push Shippensburg Township to pass a Nondiscrimination Ordinance.
R&B duo Silk Sonic released their first album, “An Evening with Silk Sonic,” on Friday, Nov. 12. Silk Sonic is made up of the multitalented Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, who formed the group after Paak opened for Mars on his 24K Magic World Tour in 2017.
The Shippensburg University Woodwind and String Ensembles performed on Sunday, Nov. 14 in Old Main Chapel.
1. Good old-fashioned recycling
“The Nutcracker” ballet is coming to the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center Nov. 17. The ballet is a holiday classic and this performance provides an updated take, featuring brand new choreography and productions by Andrey Litvinov.
‘Just Dance’ has been a constant part of my generation’s childhood. I vividly remember waking up on Christmas Day almost every year to the new version of the game and dancing with my sister until we had gone through the catalog. I still play many of the past games on my older consoles and not only are they still entertaining, but deeply nostalgic. I jumped at the chance to be able to review the newest version of the game.

Cast and crew are getting ready for Shippensburg’s production of Rocky Horror, which will have showings on Oct. 28th and 30th in Memorial Auditorium.
The Reflector held their first open mic event of the year Thursday, Oct. 21st in Stewart Hall. The Halloween event kicked off the spooky season for The Reflector. Students and faculty alike were invited to read their creepiest works for a crowd of enthusiastic listeners.
The Fashion Archives opened their new exhibit, “Remember, Celebrate, Thrive: 150 Years of Fashion at Shippensburg University” on Friday, Oct. 22nd at the Davis House. The exhibit coincided with Shippensburg’s homecoming weekend and celebrates generations of alumni, different facets of the university and, of course, fashion.
