The Shippensburg University field hockey team moved to a perfect 3–0 in its young season when it defeated both Southern Connecticut State University and Saint Michael’s College this weekend.

Delaney Shifflett, pictured on the left, has improved drastically from her freshman season last year. Shifflett made six saves, but she allowed the game’s only goal on Saturday. The Raiders are 3-1, and Shifflett’s improved play in goal has been a major reason for the team’s fast start to this season.

Sleva signs professional contract with Paris

Former Shippensburg University basketball standout Dustin Sleva announced last week that he signed a professional contract with Paris Basketball in France’s second division, Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B. One of the most widely known and respected leagues in Europe, the LNB Pro B should be a great learning experience for Sleva as he begins his professional career.
