Senior art student Lily Bramucci had a series of 16 breathtaking ceramic sculptures displayed in the Brindle Gallery. The series was named “Waxing Gibbous,” a phase in the moon cycle that occurs between the first quarter and full moon. This phase also stands as a direct representation of Bramucci moving into the next phase of her life.

“The Bride!” opens up with Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, played by Jessie Buckley, describing the story she wanted to tell. Shelley is best known for writing “Frankenstein” in the early 19th century, an accomplishment she did due to being dared, yet she is credited with some of the earliest science fiction and created a horror story that has transcended cultures and generations.

“Ugly Love” by Colleen Hoover is about a girl named Tate Collins who moves in with her brother, and across the hall lives Miles Archer, her brother’s best friend. Tate and Miles are immediately attracted to each other, and they enter a friends with benefits relationship. Miles makes it very clear from the beginning that he does not do relationships but is very vague on the reasoning. He has two rules: do not ask about his past, and do not expect a future.

Two of my favorite love tropes is brother’s best friend and enemies to lovers. This is probably because I had crushes on many of my brother’s friends growing up. Combining both of those beloved tropes of mine in one novel is a recipe for an amazing story — or so you would think.

“Puppy Pals LIVE,” a humorous stunt dog show, came to the Luhrs Performing Arts Center on Saturday for a double feature show, one at 1 p.m. and a later one at 5 p.m. The dogs were able to make high jumps, rollover on command, jump through hoops and many more.
