Coming out of a book slump can be difficult, especially if you have not read in a few months — or longer. You may not have the motivation to read, choose to do another hobby that does not take up as much energy, etc. Selecting the right book is crucial because going for the wrong one could just make you more prone to not reading. Picking up something exciting allows a reader to feel that spark again.
When I first saw the trailer for “The Menu,” it instantly went on my must-watch list.
Out of the many genres that make up today’s movie industry, horror again and again tops the popularity charts.
Following the success of the 2019 cult classic “Knives Out,” the decision to make a sequel to the original film was certainly a bold one, though it fulfilled nearly every expectation. Rian Johnson’s “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” puffs out its chest as the second installation in the “Knives Out” universe, confirming there will be a series of colorful whodunits like it. And thank goodness, because the solving of the mysteries guarantees to keep viewers guessing — and get their hearts racing in the meantime.
The Luhrs Performing Art Center 2022-23 season has been hit after hit. On Thursday, Jan. 12, the hits kept coming when the beloved British-American rock band, America, took the stage to play some of their familiar favorites.
In an industry that is reliant upon reboots, a successful person’s child could be considered a reprisal of their own achievements. People receiving more opportunities because of their surname has been a reoccurring tradition within any industry; now, it’s more abundant than ever. However, nepotism gives undue advantage to someone who may not necessarily merit such treatment.

Because of this success, several other streaming services have hit the market, giving Netflix some competition. Lately, Netflix has raised some outrage from long-term customers by canceling several animated series they promised the public. Such as the “Wings of Fire” animated series based on the books by the same name and the “Bone” series, a fantasy graphic novel.
Just when we thought the Luhrs Performing Arts Center schedule could not get any better, the hit improv-based comedy show “Whose Line is it Anyways?” is heading to Shippensburg this spring.

I will be the first to admit that I am not much of a reader. It is not that I do not like to read — my ideal day is being curled up with a good book. The problem is I never have time to sit down and truly give a book my full attention. I may not be someone who likes to celebrate the Christmas festivities this early in November, but I could not resist the opportunity to see “The Nutcracker” performed live on the stage of Luhrs Performing Arts Center (LPAC) by The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine. After all, it is a yearly tradition at LPAC for a reason.

Scott Cawthon is the genius behind the horrific franchise of “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (FnaF) and from 2014 to 2018, he independently published and developed the first five games. However, in late 2018, he announced his upcoming projects would be in collaboration with smaller game company Steel Wool Studios. Then in early 2019, “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted” was released as the first virtual reality (VR) game of the series. Not only did it include brand new gameplay, but the story line was different as well.
“The Watcher,” a Netflix original television show released on Oct. 13, has taken the internet by storm because of its mysterious, based-on-a-true-story and frustrating plot line. The story starts out with a family looking into a beautiful home in the suburbs of New Jersey. The price of the house is steep, but husband and father Dean Brannock, played by Bobby Cannavale, did everything in his power to purchase the house. Six weeks go by and they are happier than ever in their new home, until they get a suspicious letter in the mail from someone named The Watcher.
Weird Al Yankovic has always been known for his one-of-a-kind personality and is the subject of the new parody biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.” The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Weird Al, and although the film presents itself as the “unexaggerated true story” of his life, it ends up being anything but.
