Women’s basketball falls to No. 1 seed California University of Pennsylvania

The Shippensburg University women’s basketball team traveled to California, Pennsylvania, to take on the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans in the semifinal round of the PSAC playoffs. In a heartbreaking loss for SU, the Raiders’ roster bolstered confidence throughout the evening with impressive performances by the starting lineup. The 78-62 loss featured junior Colleen Young as the leading scorer, which was her fifth game in which she led the team in points this season.

Raiders fall in PSAC Semifinals, 79-68 to Mercyhurst

The Raiders reeled off magical victories in the first and second rounds of the PSAC playoffs, but once the Shippensburg University men’s basketball team arrived in West Chester, its luck ran out. The Raiders fell to the Mercyhurst University Lakers in the PSAC semifinals, 79-68.

Dunnigan’s finale breaks record

Being a student athlete in college takes an incredible amount of time and dedication. The lifestyle is not for everyone, so those who are able to compete for four years as a student athlete are to be both respected and admired. Jake Dunnigan has definitely earned this respect and admiration for his exceptional career in the Shippensburg University men’s swimming program. Going into his final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship, Dunnigan’s goal was to simply do his best.

SU wrestling sends two to NCAA National Championships

As the first leg of collegiate wrestling postseason closes, wrestlers scattered throughout the NCAA Division II’s four regions prepare for the final stop of the season. For Shippensburg University, the young team traveled to the Mercyhurst Athletic Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, for the two-day Super Region I Championships that were held on Feb.

Mens basketball picks up big win over rival Bloomsburg University

The men’s basketball team capped off their best season since 2006 and clinched a home playoff game with an 84-77win over their rival Bloomsburg University last Wednesday night at Hieges Field House. It is a rare case scenario when a team gets to play their eventual playoff opponent for home court advantage on the final game of the year, although this was the case at senior night at Hieges.

The long 2015-2016 wrestling season is approaching the postseason tournaments such as the NCAA Super Region I Championships, which will be held at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania on Friday, Feb.
