Bleacher Talk: SU ’14-’15 Athletes of the Year
While Bleacher Talk has normally been a debate column between our sports’ editors, but this week it has a different feel, as Dave and Cale each select the Shippensburg University ’14-’15 athletes of the year. This was a difficult decision because there were a number of team and individual performances that stood out in Red Raider athletics. Dave is tasked with selecting the best athlete among the male Red Raiders, while Cale will choose the best female athlete.
Bleacher Talk: Baseball playoff outlook
With one swing, Raider baseball clinched a spot in the 2015 PSAC playoffs in a double-header on Saturday, after missing the tournament last season. Sophomore Ryan McMillen sent a solo shot out of the park for a game-winning home run in the sixth inning, ensuring a win against Bloomsburg and securing a playoff berth. Prior to 2014, Shippensburg had recorded two consecutive 32-win seasons, winning the Division II College World Series in 2013.

Every March, the entire country braces for a phenomenon commonly known as March Madness. Otherwise known as the NCAA Tournament, it is the pulse-pounding conclusion of the Men’s College Basketball season. It places the best 68 teams in the country against each other to determine a champion.
