Raider Track Wins 6 Events at Millersville

Shippensburg University’s women’s track and field team won six events at the Millersville Metric meet on Saturday.
Freshman Megan Rhyner had an outstanding performance in the 800-meter run. She placed second in the 800 with a time of 2 minutes 14.52 seconds. Rhyner’s time just missed the NCAA provisional-qualifying mark.
She was also a part of a 4-by-400 team, which also included Caitlin Stuetz, senior Erica Hess and junior Lindsay Bingaman, who finished in a season-best 3:55.77 seconds.
Stuetz won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15 seconds and placed third in the 400-meter hurdles. Freshman Daniesa Lyles finished second to Stuetz in the 100 hurdles.
Hess won the 400-meter dash in 56.43 seconds but just missed the NCAA provisional-qualifying mark by a few hundredths of a second. Hess also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.89 seconds.
Senior Stephanie Harrison won the shot put and placed third in the discus. She won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet 2 inches.
Sophomore Megan Breski posted a season-best in the pole vault, vaulting 11 feet 3 1/2 inches.
Freshman Patty Reis had a won the steeplechase in 11:32.78 seconds. Her time is almost a full minute faster than the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying standard.
Senior Katie Frey won the 5K in a time of 18:17.53 seconds. She also finished fifth in the 3K.
Sophomore Brittany Harlacker finished second in the javelin, throwing 123 feet 4 inches.
The Raiders will be back in action this weekend at the Bucknell Distance Carnival.
